|            | News - I am relishing my role as the new Coaching Professional at Lingfield Park Golf Club. Most recently, I was part of the teaching academy at Horne Park Golf Centre. During that time, my introduction to Lingfield Park was competing in the Surrey Open and the Pro-Am. | In this issue:

| As a member of the British PGA and the European Challenge Tour, I have had the opportunity to compete in many parts of the world and my experiences both as a player and a coach have combined to develop my personalised approach to coaching. My goal, as your coaching professional, is to enhance your enjoyment of the game. | ![]() |

| By way of introduction, I am offering Lingfield Park Members, 1 free lesson on any aspect of the game. This offer is valid until 31st March 2007. To book this free consultation, members should email or call me on 07769 618311. Alternatively, lessons can be booked at the Professional Shop. Many members have already taken advantage of the free tuition and hopefully, as the weather improves, many more will take a visit to the range to see me in February. | ![]() |

| Ladies - The Lingfield Park Ladies Section has increased its preparation for this season's Pearson Trophy. On Tuesday, 16th January, the team recruited me for some group tuition on the range. No doubt with a little practice in some highlighted areas and high morale, the team will play well. | ||
| Congratulations to the team on winning their 1st match against the Woldingham Golf Club. With many matches going down to the wire, the teams were poised at 3 wins each with 1 game still to be decided. It was left to Carole Burrows, whose match was tied after 18 holes. Carole won at the 1st extra hole to clinch the match and the tie. Well done. | ![]() |

| Juniors - As part of a joint initiative between Lingfield Park Golf Club and Glen Haynes Golf, we are developing the junior section of the golf club in 2007. As an introduction to the new incentive program, we are offering free tuition to our junior members. The coaching clinics are for a period of 1 hour and will take place at the Lingfield Park Driving Range and Short Game Practice Area. Range balls are provided. | ![]() |

| The 1st clinic was a resounding success with 7 budding young golfers taking advantage of the free coaching. Mid irons and driving were the focus of tuition and considering the lack of experience of these players, I was very impressed with some of the shots produced. Most of the juniors played 18 holes afterwards and improvement is immediately evident. | ![]() |

| The registration sheet for the 2nd coaching clinic in February is now on the juniors board. Do not delay as again, places are allocated on a 1st come, 1st served basis. | ![]() |

| The Tour - As you can imagine, not many tournaments are staged at this time of year. I have been fortunate to be invited to play in the 'Guildford Alliance' which is a winter pro/am society which plays some of the top courses in Surrey. This gives me the opportunity to keep my competitive edge and also win a little prizemoney. At last outing, I scored 71 at Liphook in wet and windy conditions to finish in a tie for 2nd place. | ![]() |

| The Surrey Winter League kicked off again on 31st January at Effingham Golf Club. Despite some poor putting on the winter greens, I shot 72 for a creditable 4th place. I am looking forward to the next tournament to be held at Royal Wimbledon on February 14th. I will be utilising all practice facilities at Lingfield Park in preparation for this next event. | ![]() |
